Wulf Wedding

Went to a wedding today.

For those of you (especially Old Black Diamonders, like Fin) who remember him, Hohenwulf was the groom. He's been a wistful bachelor with high standards for so long that we'd given up on ever attending his wedding.

When he called us in August to tell us he was getting married, we were thrilled. He's from a large family (in every way) and it just didn't seem right for him to be alone.

We knew he was doing the right thing when we saw the look on his face as his bride came down the aisle towards him. The big goof looked like a kid on Christmas morning. Jane, the bride, lit up when she saw him, too. She is delightful, a small, dark-haired, animated person with a certain understated elegance.

The wedding was lovely, with a heavy dose of Bach, and the reception, overlooking the York river, was quite congenial, mostly because we got to talk with Tannis and Tnek the whole time. Hadn't seen them in far, far too long.

I guess it's never too late to meet one's match, even when one has impossibly high standards. I'll be praying for their marriage, and enjoying seeing Hohenwulf happy. He deserves a little joy, after all he does for other people.
