We finally closed on our house on Friday. Then we went over and wandered around in it. We are daunted, but not much. Had our home inspection yesterday. Sister Kim and bundle of cuteness Alex were there, too. House looked much more inviting in daylight. Still dirty and neglected, but nicer. We have a few repairs to make, but the main issue at hand is rebuilding the stairs to Manland (our new name for the FROG). The home inspector decried Manland's current feng shui, and told us exactly what to do. Problem is, we don't know beans about building stairs. (Anyone out there who feels like helping, gimme a yell! We'll even pay you!) We also discovered grafitti in ur enormous attic, proclaiming it "The Castle of Coolness." Wow. Who knew? Someone left a mondo box of old 45's up there, too. Gonna see if those are worth anything soon. We finished our day by measuring and making lists, and the Samurai turned our left-handed fridge into a right-handed fridge. I am still thunderstruck ; I had no idea you could do that! Last stop before bed was Lowe's. Wow. So many choices! Got really cool outside lights. Japonisme galore! Anyone interested in doing some painting on the first weekend in November? |
