Ceilings and Narnia

Last night, Kate the Carpenter came to finish fixing Blooeye's ceiling hole. She's been progressively adding layers of drywall mud to the patch, feathering it in. Last night was the final "swirly" bit, to get it to match the plaster. She used a 6" wide masonry brush, and it is excellent. Unless you're really searching, you won't be able to tell that a beautiful firefighter ever catapulted through our ceiling.

In other news, Casey went back to the vet today. More UTI problems, more antibiotics, new incontinence drugs, less money for me. Poor ole doggie. The nice vet asked for a "small" fecal sample, and Casey obliged with "extra large" when they tried to take his temperature. (He wanted that thermometer *out*, so he squeezed, and a lot of other stuff came with.) He made some new friends, too, and intimidated a large female pit bull who had the temerity to growl at him. He looked her in the eye, gave a gruff little "wuff," and she fawned on him. He's such a studly old eunuch doggie.

We went to Narnia for a while tonight. I was utterly enchanted, and cried my way through the whole thing. I get very misty when books I love are done well onscreen. I especially adored the griffin, and the mermaids. Gotta see it again before too long.

Must go sleep. The Space Van goes in for inspection at 8 AM, and I must bake bread to take to the New Year's Extravaganza.
