Today two angels visited us. Okay, they were little bearded guys, so maybe they were elves. Any way you slice it, they rocked the Castle of Coolness. First was Buddy the Counter Guy. He's a burly dude with twinkly eyes and a sort of junior-Santa demeanor. Took out our gnassty old mostly-rotten countertops and put in shiny, smooth, sleek faux marble. Mmmmmmm. I want to sleep on my new counters, they are so bee-yoo-tee-ful! The kitchen is transformed. Buddy returns tomorrow to fix the plumbing and raise the appliances up a bit. He's awesome--cheap, fast, and thorough. He does floors, too. Hmmmm. Second Angel was George. He's a dojo friend, and he's Greek. Since he's deaf in one ear, he's a LOUD Greek. I really love George, though, because he's an electrician. He moved the way-low bathroom light fixture in the Barbie Bathroom up higher, and the new medicine cabinet finally fit! Yay! A mirror! George is awesome. He'll be back to do motion-sensor lights outside, next Saturday. We love George! I finished all the rest of the trim painting today, and put the new super-de-luxe toilet seat in the Barbie Bathroom. Still have lots to do--cabinet doors, drawer fronts, unpacking the kitchen, and fixing the hall bathroom--but more of the house is usable now, and really cool looking. I might get to some Christmas decorations next week! |
