Bad things:

* nervous Neapolitan Mastiffs poop more than usual, and in inappropriate places.
* growly doggie jealousy stuff
* Thor's right ear smells like stinky bellybutton--I think he has an ear infection

Good things:

* I have awesome carpet-cleaning skills
* new dog is crate-trained, so we have a timeout facility
* Got ear-cleaning skills, too
* First dog obedience class tonight!
* Thor looks just like the Mangalores (the doggy-head guys) in "The Fifth Element."

I took Thor for a walk last night. The neighbors were in awe. Down the street, our neighbor Beth and her many daughters (I call it her "DIY Girl Scout troop") came running to pet Thor. He loved the atttention, and was Mr. Polite Friendly Happy doggie. But when Mr. Beth came out, he wasn't as happy--he retreated to my side, and the tail quit wagging. Other male neighbors we encountered didn't even try to approach us, just chatted from a distance, and Thor stood calmly. He's a good leash-walker, but he gets tired quickly. Silly puppy.

Right now, he's gnawing bits out of a chicken-flavored nylabone. Wonder if those come in kryptonite?
